France's Disillusionment at Indochina (1900 - 1930)
This is a research paper about French colonial empire at Indochina during early 1900s. It introduces the context of Indochina history as well as showing the desire of French government about turning Indochina into a 'France of the Far East'. The main focal points of the discourse are: reasons and circumstances that motivate French urbarnists and architects, the culture and architectural style of France at the time and the influence of French architecture on Indochina. The purpose is to reveal the division between history on one side and fiction on the other in order to show the illusion that French goverment failed to achieve.
Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao: Cultural and Economic Value
This is a research paper about Guggenheim museum and its contribution to Bilbao City both in cultural value and economic value. In order to transform its image to a better, maybe to be a central spot of the country, Bilbao city uses traditional marketing solutions that involves constructing iconic buildings which is a common tactic in city reimaging that a number of cities around the world have used. (Opera house, Sydney; German Pavilion, Barcelona; Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao; etc.) The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the effects of using iconic structure to revitalize the city life and its economy system by investigating two aspects: Economic value and Cultural value
